Why we exist
Communities need people to be able to fully participate to create a thriving community. Supervision is a predatory and punitive system that is controlled by agents with too much discretion. We created ProSay to ensure the authority agents are given is used responsibly and that their focus is to support those impacted by the criminal legal system to reintegrate into the community creating safe communities for all people. We know that when a peer advocate supports a person on supervision, their likelihood of remaining in the community is higher as well as their quality of life. We measure beyond the success of recidivism and strive for a person’s thriving, well-being and quality of life.
Who we are
We are individuals who have or currently are impacted by supervision who have/are successfully navigated supervision across the state of Wisconsin or on the Federal level. We are individuals who are or have supported a loved one on supervision. Check out Our Team
Who we support
We support individuals on supervision and their loved ones or friends as they journey through the system. We support all individuals impacted by supervision regardless of their type of conviction(s). For those on the Registry for sex offenses, et.al - we offer support beyond their supervision discharge date so long as they are on the registry.
We support those in the community at large who want to impact the supervision system through our trainings, Supervision Simulation, and policy advocacy.
where we advocate
Due to the Department of Corrections dividing the state by 8 regions for those on supervision, we serve the entire state. Our primary regions are 1, 2, 3, 4, 7 where we are able to be in person with short notice. For Regions 5, 6 & 8 we support those with our virtual accommodations- though if in person meetings are needed, we do our best to accommodate those. We are striving to have every state in the U.S. to have a State-wide ProSay Chapter.
